The Prairie Rose Golf Course is located on the north side of Stanley on Highway 8 just East of the courthouse. It is a 9-hole course with grass greens and watered fairways.  A lot of activity occurs at the course during the summer from special tournaments to weekly men’s and women’s nights.

Fishing and Boating

For those interested in fishing North Dakota’s lakes, reservoirs and streams, there are some excellent choices around Stanley. Here are a couple favorites near the hotel:

  • Stanley Pond
    Stanley Pond boating access is just 4 min. away. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Largemouth Bass. Learn More.
  • Stanley Reservoir
    About 6 min away, the Reservoir is approx. 11 feet deep at its deepest point. Northern Pike and Yellow Perch can be found here. Learn More.
  • Clearwater Lake
    Clearwater Lake Boating Access is 22 min. away. At the lake, you’ll find walleye and abundant small northern pike. A swimming beach is located on the south shore of the lake and gorgeous prairies surround the lake. Learn More.
  • Lake Sakakawea
    White Earth Boating Access and White earth bay recreation area can both be found off of Lake Sakakawea. The location is a little bit further away, about 50 min, but the amenities including picnic facilities, restrooms, concession and camping, make it a great place to visit! Learn More.
